Simple Optoisolator Board Assembly – Step-By-Step Guide

What do you need?

  • Breadboard or proto board
  • Generic Optoisolator, I’ve used an 4N35
  • A Led
  • A resistor
  • Some wires
  • Shrink tubes
  • Soldering Iron and solder
  • Tweezers and pliers

Once you’ve all the needed parts you have to assembly the board and connect everything together.

Here you’ve the scheme of the connection that I’ve made:

And this is how it looks like after it’s finished and protected with some shrink tube:

The pinout of the circuit is the following:

  • WHITE: +12V
  • BLUE: Opto Led Cathode
  • BLACK: GND
  • GREEN: Z-Endstop pin

Plan B: Buy a premade one

For a better result and a flawless installation I’ve also developed a pcb that is currently in production.
If you want one of this assembled or to solder by your self please send me an email through the contact from.

    • Hi, thank you for your comment and sorry for late reply but it was in the spam.
For 24V usage just double the value of R1 so from 2.2k to 4.4k.
